There you were
standing all alone
But somehow I knew..
You had found more peace and wisdom
Than I would ever know

As I watched you play for the crowds
Your songs and words rang loud and clear
The melody of your tunes..
Would last for years and years

Your smiles and frowns, so mingled
were like a circus clown
Your happiness was felt by others
{ this you did not know }
How we loved you so

You reached out your hand in kindness..
From your heart..
Where love begins
You founded this friendship
That only time will end


I wanted to give a gift to you
But there was none I could find
So I will share what you gave to me
Your warmth and loving kindness
That will last all through time

And as the years do pass my friend
