These people here, call me "The Gyp," or "Velcro," how rude! But, they are great people, so I guess I'll stay. I would like to tell you a story about me, from my point of view.
I was born around mid October,1998 . I was a feral cat. My Mom (Momma Cat & Tarbabe my big sis) lived in the neighborhood. No one would hurt any of us, we were fed and cared for by all the people here.
Momma Cat liked this one lady, we stayed there a lot. Her name was KC, we stayed in KC's barn. We were warm and safe from critters and KC made sure we had food and water.
Sometime, about Turkey day that year, KC started to hand feed me. Oh, how I loved that turkey! Each day she got closer, then she snagged me. I was so scared, then she brought me into this BIG house.
There was another gal in the home, her name was Misti-Dawn. It took a little while for Misti to consider me a friend, I was only ten weeks old, a baby, and full of mysef!
Over time we came to really like each other. We would play chase, do rollovers, run races, and sleep in a big curl around each other. We had bugs for snacks and a number of other things, I will not mention.
At first, I was not allowed on KC's bed, Misti-Dawn would get so mad and she is a LOT bigger than me! Misti is trying to deal with it, she gave up on some stuff she will let me sleep on the bed now, if I sneak up after she has gotten her scratchies, and curl up REAL quiet!
I like to hide and sneak attack Misti when she comes in the room. I am always in trouble. KC will not let me scratch on the sofa, so I went to the wall boards (he-he) not good move, squirt gun! KC will not DE-claw me because she believes it is not good. She says I may need protection someday, and she can always replace a sofa or chair. (nice lady, with squirt gun!)
Over time I discovered the man in this house. He really likes me and I became his girl! He lets me lick his face, ears, hair and he feeds me under the table so KC will not see. When I had surgery, the man held me for hours. I was still so drugged, he took care of me ... sigh. Can't fault him for that can we?
We all have a good life here, and I'm one happy girl. I came in from the cold and I know there are so many out there that need homes. I was the lucky one. The man and KC love and care about me. We have soft pillows, bright sunny windows and even a pet door.
When we are outside we have this big wire enclosed area that we can play in and be in the fresh air.
Can't beat a life like this!
With me still being a kitten, I am all over the place. The lady calls me, Velcro, well, I just like to be close. I even slap at her hand when she tries to put me down from the cabinets. Not supposed to be up there either, she just thinks it's funny.
Hey enough about me for now. Take care out there, and if you see a little one lost, see if it has tags or any ID so it can go home. If not please help in finding a home for the lost ones ...
... Kc and the Man found homes for MammaCat and Tarbabe.I Guess we were all really lucky.
All my love to you ... The Gypsy
