Just look at me - I’m a handsome guy
With my golden coat and my amber eyes
I’m enjoying life in my nice new home
And I’ve promised never again to roam.

I got lost you see, some time ago
And how to get home I did not know
They took me to a place for cats who stray
I was shut in a cage and could not get away.

People came in to see us and took lucky ones home
But as weeks passed by I was still alone
Then one day some people smiled at me
And said that’s the one we’d like to see.

When she held out her hand and stroked my fur
I couldn’t resist it – I started to purr
I fussed and I squirmed and I put on a show
And the lady said “This one I cannot let go”

So they took me with them and I’m so glad
They love me to bits and I’ll never be sad.
Their other cat, Lucy, is my new best friend
And so my story has a happy end.
