I am just a cat, [ but don't tell MoM! ] I would like
to tell you all about me. I am a big cat, and adorable by the way.. They think I am part Maine Coon. They call me the "round one," [ that's just Rude! ] but, I
have to tell you I eat alot too. So, there is a lot of blubber. We will Not dwell on that..Thank you very much !! I
came to live with my new people from the ASPCA shelter, called "New Leash On Life".
My new MoM had just lost her
best friend and she needed me. I was there for her, and we have become great pals. I love her, but keep it a secret ok!
There I was, sitting in a cage, my eyes are what she said, she
noticed first. They are big, with flecks of gold. She said she fell in love
with me at first sight.
Before you knew it, I was on my way
home. That new home was sure big, took me almost a week to check out all the nooks
and crannies.
Since I have been here, we have
gotten two more additions to the house.
We have the youngest new Turp, (not mine!) she is
another lost and found. The Gypsy, she is a cute kid, but a real pain
sometimes. Guess that's how those young ones are. Then we have Annie, the Norwegian
Forest Cat. Annie is great gal, maybe one of these days, I'll even
share my bed with her. But for right now, it's all
mine! And ' I have claws ' purrsss
My activities, let me see, toys, a
good scratcher, a bunch of soft furry balls and LOTS of catnip.
My wish list,
[A] Big soft bed and a
window shelf, I can call all my own!
[B] A Food bowl, hidden just for me and not have MoM yell [ cuz I am on a diet see..I have this problem..food ! I haven't gotten into this sharing thing, Mom is talking
about all the time!
BUT, I am Her " Sweet-Pea" she told me so, so There !

THIS OLD CAT
I'm getting on
in years
my coat is turning gray
My eyes have lost
their luster,
my hearing..just OK.
I spend my
whole day dreaming
of conquests of my past
lying
near a sunny window,
waiting for warm
repast.
"I remember our first visit"
I was
coming to you free,
hoping you would take me
in
and keep me company.
I wasn't young or
handsome,
two years I'd roamed the streets.
There
were scars on my face,
I hobbled on my feet.
I
could see your disapointment..
as I left my prison
cage.
Oh, I hoped you would accept me
and look
beyond my age.
You took me out of pity,
I
accepted, without shame.
Then you grew to love
me.
"I admit the same"
I have shared with you
your laughter,
you have wet my coat with
tears.
We've come to know each
other,
throughout these many years
Just ONE more
hug this morning........
before you drive
away....
And know I'll think about you
throughout
your busy day!
The time we have left together
is a
treasured time at that,
My heart is yours forever, I
Promise.......
