Memories Of Thomas

Thomas The Cat

A small stripped kitten name Thomas
Came to live with me one day
So courageous and full of mischief
You could tell he was a stray

Fiesty and out looking for trouble
He was always in a brawl
And many times he could be seen
With a cat pinned against the wall

Warm days you would find him napping
The window sill was a favorite place
And as he dreamed of things to do
His little heart would start to race

One day Thomas went off to wander
As he had done many times before
But this time he was gone for days
No longer did he meow at my door

Searching and calling out his name
I prayed please let him come home
And it was then I seen him walking
But there was something very wrong

A look of fright and much confusion
Was showing in his little eyes
Disoriented he could not find me
And you couldn't hear his weak cries

Quickly I searched to find an answer
Calling my vet to see if he knew
He said Thomas had been poisoned
And antifreeze was the clue

No cat can survive when given a drink
And our Thomas had to be put to sleep
But he will remain in my heart forever
As all the memories of him I'll keep

I wish I could say this was all fiction
But unfortunately it is a true fact
Someone poisoned him with antifreeze
Thomas was my sister's little baby cat
