No More Cat Food For Me Please
The morning is quickly approaching
Sun beams wake me from a cozy nap
Scratching, stretching, and a yawn
I reach over to wake you with a tap
It's time to awake all the children
Arousing them from their warm beds
Dressing them for a day at school
And most importantly they are fed
Silently hidden on the corner table
I watch each child get their fill
While in my bowl you pour dry food
And you expect this to be my meal
I want the Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch
Not some old dried up frisky mix
If you would take time to taste it
Something else for me you'd fix
The vet says I really shouldn't eat it
But come on just a little want hurt
A taste of peanut butter and sugar
Causes old tom's to prowl and flirt
You'll be leaving home very soon
To spend your hours at work
Once you close and lock the door
I will come out from where I lurk
Today I'll have a big breakfast feast
For someone left the cereal out
When you come home late tonight
You'll cry and scream no doubt
And as the weekend is drawing near
I know tomorrow you will be home
No chance to have my Cap'n Crunch
For I'll no longer be here alone
