Why were you taken when I loved you so?
I'd promised you a forever home
But I gave you your freedom,
your right to roam.

One day you roamed just a little too far
And your life was lost by a speeding car.
You were so precious, my sweet ginger boy
The light of my life - my pride and joy.

Oh Barney, why, when I loved you so.
Why oh why did you have to go.

my little Barney was killed on a roadway
I am absolutely devastated
and have wept buckets full of tears -
He was such a sweet, affectionate little chap
There will be a place in my heart for him forever.
