Well, One day about two years ago, I was at work.
And Low and behold what did I see?
A little black Kitten,
under the wheel of a truck in the parking lot
That little baby could not have been more than 8-10 weeks old
How on earth she could have gotten there was way beyond me!
We were several miles from anyone, she was either dropped off or had hitched a ride
from her owner since she had a flea collar
It was hot as it could be, in the heat of late August. She was going to be killed by a car,
or the wild critters were going to get her. She was not going to last overnight.
I looked her over, [ yep she ran right up to me, not a fear in the world ]
she was a little girl * smile* and had the most loving face I have seen.
Long black flowing fur, and big golden eyes. Talk about a heart tugger !
Little did I know she had me hooked right then and there
Knowing it was going to be hot, I moved her into an area with some shade trees,
put a big box she could get in
gave her some of my lunch, and water. Saying to myself,
"if she is still here when I get off -- I will take her home."
I spoke to several in the building to be sure word would get out that she
had been found. Not a soul came to rescue her !!!
Soooooo, guess I had another kitty to get a home for!
when I got off work I loaded her in a box in my trunk, and off we went.
NOW.. how was I going to sneak her in?? If hubby saw her he would have a fit!
we already had 3 indoors and 7 outside!
Well this was going to take some planning if I wanted to even think of keeping her
Arriving home--I managed to get her around back with the other kitties,
After 3 tries!
well morning came, Hubby noticed we had a new member of the flock outside of course.
He kept saying " she Must belong to someone, she has a flea collar "
Little did HE know!
Several days passed, and he had now started calling her 'Little Princess '
I sorta stuck with " hey YOU" ..
Well, as you can guess he sort of got to liking her. One day about a week later
he said he thought maybe she belonged in the house, "she was not an outside kitty."
and so that began the saga of Mollie--
after a try of several names.
“Princess, You, Rascal, Sweetheart Spunk, and Turp..”.
We settled on Mollie since all the other Furkids had names ending in "IE"
so Princess Mollie came to be.
Off we went to the vet to be checked all was well with her, no health problems!
we guessed her birth to be some time in June. So we gave her 6-17-07..her Official
B'Day. and thought her breed might be part Persian.
Well in the next 2 years she has grown to be a beautiful black long furred lady.
with the undercoat a silver gray, she looks like a cloud floating along the floor.
Mollie has the wonderful disposition of love and understanding, and smart as a whip.
She loves to cuddle, be brushed and made over! She has never been a problem one.
I will never know how she came to me as she did, but the love I have received
from that little black kitten is beyond words.
If she was dumped in that lot,
I would like them to know of the love they have missed
The fun times she has given me, the look in those eyes at say
" I have a forever home, I have placed all my trust here
with these who love me and will never harm me"
so Mollie-- this is for you..
My Mollie is a pretty creature
With magnificent eyes and beautiful features
your fur can be a worry,
everything in the house is really furry.
You protect our home from things you see
Like mice, bugs, and things that be
But little things that worry me most
When you chase an unseen ghost.
Mollie you leave a disaster wherever you go!
that Stuff shows up under my toes
I feed you, take care of you little feline
you control my mind.
even when you are your worst
I still love you,
your needs come first.
When I loose my direction,
You come to me with love and affection.
you love us without rhyme or reason
not love you, would be major treason.
