An awesome presence in the darkness
Was felt as a moon slowly did rise
And the cat named Misty was watching
As a lady wipes tears from her eyes

Oh how she wished she wouldn't cry
But knowing how her heart did break
She silently gazed upon this woman
As she stared into a deep blue lake

What could she be thinking this night
Was it the love they shared for years
And the hours they had spent 'talking'
As she purred, chasing away her fears

Misty knew the thoughts were about her
And the day she had brought her home
But even though she was an older cat
Had wanted her so she wouldn't roam

The times she'd sat quietly watching
A rub against her leg as she dressed
The extra hugs given as she departed
Yes, Misty knew she had been blessed

Many years she'd spent with this lady
As the love the two had truly shared
She could feel her heart was breaking
And she knew just how much she cared

If she could reach out and touch her
And let her know that it is alright
She had crossed over Rainbow Bridge
The place was such a beautiful sight

From the other side of the shiny moon
She watches and misses the lady too
Reflecting on the past years with her
And sending purrs saying 'I love You'

An awesome presence in the darkness
When the light chases away the fears
A cat name Misty shares her thoughts
As the lady wipes away her many tears
