There are in our home these small friends
They didn't ask to come into our lives
They don't require much, just a little bit of food
They only ask for some of our love and attention
These friends of ours never hurt anyone
by thought or by deed
They try only to please
All of our friends lives are spent
just trying to make us happy
They ask for so little.. But gave so much..
They are never too tired, too hungry
Never to sick, To show their love
In every way possible they demonstrate their love
With the tilt of a head
The sparkle in their eyes
A purr.. the thump of a tail
How they wait for us to show them some attention
So they can show their love
How they live by the' Golden Rule '
These friends are part of our family
A most important part of our lives
and we are so blessed
But we are so much better for their having
shared their lives with us
I can think of nothing and perhaps no one
That has better taught us to give and receive
Love..so openly..unselfishly and unashamedly
AS THESE SMALL FURRY FRIENDS
