Early
in the month of April one day A little tabby
kitten was born The very first one of a
litter of five Appearing lost and somewhat
forlorn
Following came three brothers
and a sister Looking pleased was this
families new mother Her five little kittens
quickly would grow As they cuddled against
one another
And as the days and weeks
hurriedly past The kittens were given new
homes With the exception of the little first
born Who was left looking sad and alone
For now he spends his long days sleeping
What else could this tiny boy do I
wonder who he could find to play with When
he's bored and feeling ever so blue
At
night we hear his little paws scrambling As
they race up and down on the stairs While the
rest of the household lay sleeping But this
little kitten really don't care
You can
hear him running and playing With objects
that we do not know But one thing is fact
not fiction That he bats at them to and fro
A kitten that is no bigger than a
minute He has stolen each one of our hearts
And if anyone should ask to have him We
know we could never be apart
Now he's
already turned ten weeks old And is feisty
and so full of fun So if you should drop by
for a visit He'll entertain you till the day
is done
We are not quite certain what the
future holds For he is wild and sure loves to
climb You best be weary when he's
awake For he'll swing from your leg like a
vine
With a pitiful little cry that says
'hungry' He wakes you up at the first break
of day Just a tiny little fluff ball of
mischief We are certain that here's where
he'll stay
